A New Name — Same Work, Sharper Focus
You may notice a small change around here.
What used to be called TheRobArcher.com is now Archer’s Line.
The work hasn’t changed. The URL hasn’t changed. The focus has.
I write about U.S. politics, history, media, and power — not as hot takes, but as patterns. What keeps repeating. What we forget. What comes back to collect interest.
The new name reflects that better. It’s about a throughline — from past to present, and forward.
Why this matters now
Heading into 2026, I need to grow this publication — in reach, stability, and independence.
I’m not backed by a media company. I don’t answer to a corporate owner. There’s no hedge fund or parent company absorbing losses.
This work exists because readers support it.
If you’ve found value here — if you’ve shared posts, read closely, or come back with each new article — becoming a paid subscriber is the most direct way to keep this going.
Independent journalism only works if enough people decide it matters.
Paid subscriptions don’t just unlock extra posts. They buy time, focus, and independence. They allow me to keep doing this work without chasing clicks, sponsors, or talking points.
What’s ahead
More political analysis with historical context. More straight talk about media and power. More writing that treats readers like adults.
Same voice. Same values. Clearer signal.
If you’re already a paid subscriber, thank you. You’re the reason this is possible. If you’ve been reminding yourself to “do it later,” later has arrived.

I'm definitely pulling for you, Rob. If and when I ever have the means to do so I'll upgrade to paid. Godspeed.
