Liberator
A young guard flees the ruins of a death campâonly to confront the one judgment he can't escape. A short story.
Screams. Gunfire. Explosions. The smell of burning flesh. Panic. Flight.
But now, all of that was fadingâan echo, the smoke of a nightmare dissolving at dawn. Not even a dream, really. Something less.
Above him stretched a vast, cloudless sky, blue and bright. As the young man lay still in the patches of snow, he marveled that such peace could exist afterâŠ
