UPDATE: Obama Finally Started a War with Iran
Not really, but that's what Trump kept warning us about.
The war with Iran is here. Israel and the U.S. have launched major strikes against Iran to destroy its nuclear program — the same nuclear program that President Trump told us he “completely obliterated” last year, but which apparently needs to be “completely obliterated” again. (And let’s not forget how incensed he was when anyone dared suggest — as the U.S. intelligence assessment actually indicated — that the strikes had only set Iran’s nuclear program back by a few months.)
There’s also the small matter that Iran wouldn’t make a nuclear deal with us.
We had a deal with Iran. We had cameras in their facilities. We had international inspectors going in and looking everything over. But Trump tore up that deal because Obama made it. And now all of those safeguards are gone, and it will cost us American lives. Because Trump hates Obama.
Trump, naturally, is still bitter about not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, because he is, after all, the “Peace President.” He did receive the FIFA Peace Prize, so there’s that.
He warned us — repeatedly — that under a Biden or Harris administration, they’d drag us into more foreign wars, maybe even World War III. And we’re all well acquainted by now with Trump’s years of bluster about how Obama, being “weak” and “desperate,” would start a war with Iran just to “show how tough he is.”
But forget all that. We are at war with Eurasia. We have always been at war with Eurasia. And, as Trump himself has promised, American lives will be lost in this war — but hey, things happen. What are you gonna do?
Let me be very clear: I shed no tears for bad things that happen to Iran’s current leadership. Religious fundamentalism has dragged that country backward by centuries, and its crackdown on dissent is horrific and vile.
But we also have to be clear about something else: once again, Trump’s loudest accusations against his political enemies turned out to be pure projection. He was telling us, the whole time, exactly what he wanted to do.
